Enso
Portland, Oregon
FCE is responsible for the structural design of this 6 story, 215,000 square foot mixed use apartment development
in Portland, Oregon's Pearl District. Enso consists of five floors of high end apartments built of wood construction,
which is supported by the second floor 12-inch thick post-tensioned concrete slab. The second floor also supports a
full courtyard garden. The first floor is an 8-inch post tensioned concrete slab that will be used for both retail
space and parking. Due to the poor soil condition FCE value-engineered a 12" post-tensioned mat foundation to take
the place of conventional piles. This project was completed in 2010.
